When deciding on a birthday gift for your boyfriend, it is not all about how expensive the gift costs, it is the idea and thought that counts. In many traditions, sending gifts is considered very important and the selection of gifts has to be ideal and appropriate – not impolite towards the receiver. Avoid gifts that are taboo to his religion and race. You will need to know your boyfriend well and not make any foolish mistakes to upset him. For example, in Chinese culture, sending a clock related gift is always a bit “no no.” There is a strong Chinese belief that the sending of a clock means the recipient is dying soon or we are ready to send him off in his funeral.
Know his hobbies and interests
If you know his hobbies or interests well, try to find something related to them. If he visits the gym regularly, perhaps some kind of sports equipment or a cool sports bag or pair of sports shoes will do. If he likes drinking, specialty mugs could be the thing for him.
Personalize It!
Try to make the gift personal so that he will always remember where it came from whenever he sees it. An engraved wallet, bracelet or watch could just make his day.
Get creative
You can give your boyfriend aroma therapy candles or scented bottle which can be used in bathroom and bedroom. This will add terrific aroma to start off a romantic time both of you can spend together enjoying the scent. My choice of scent will be lavender or lemon favour which is both refreshing and suitable for sensitive nose.
Surprise him!
You can drop him a surprise mail with a pair of his favourite NBA team basketball match or Soccer match. Find a suitable night which both of you are free to enjoy the game together. Taking quality time to enjoy his favourite teams means giving him good support to strengthen your relationship and makes him happy at the same time.
At his convenience!
You can buy him a mini fridge and put it right at his bedroom. On top of that, put in a dozen of his favourite drinks or beers for him to enjoy. Go to the nearest video store and rent a couple of latest block buster movies, or download movies and play on your tablet to spend an enjoyable day with your boyfriend.
Get wild
Go to the nearest shopping mall and pick out a sexy brief with patterns or stripes at the men’s section for him. Wrap it up and send to him in a shoe box with a note saying “I only want to see you in this on your birthday”. Again consider your boyfriend’s culture/upbringing to decide on how appropriate this option is.
Take a break
It is always a good idea to go for a vacation with your love ones where both of you will be away from the stress full work spending quality time together. Favourite holiday locations always include romantic beaches and wonderful massages. Have fun!
